Crispie is a large privately owned house located on the Eastern shore of Loch Fyne in Argyll, one of the loveliest parts of the Western Highlands of Scotland, yet it is less that 2 hours drive from Glasgow. The house is ideal for big family holidays having every amenity, accommodating 16 people in comfort and providing complete seclusion in a beautiful setting right by the Loch. The house has a 30’ x 15’ indoor heated swimming pool, which is kept at a temperature suitable for young children. There is a sauna next to the swimming pool.
A motorboat is provided which can be used from Crispie’s private pier and floating pontoon. Private slipway and mooring facilities are also available if you wish to bring your own boat. The boats are available from 1st April or Easter (whichever is earlier) until late October. There is a large games room with a snooker table, table tennis table, and dart board, also a selection of indoor and outdoor games. On the large lawn, which runs down to the beach there is a full size trampoline and a children’s swing.
Further afield there is a sailing school at Tighnabruaich (9 miles away) and the ‘Waverley’, the last sea-going paddle steamer in Britain provides trips from Tighnabruaich during the summer months. Golf and fishing can also generally be arranged locally. There are a number of good walks along the beach and in the woods behind the house.
There are no hidden extra charges when you have a holiday at Crispie. All fuel (including petrol for the boat), electricity, linen, towels, cleaning materials, etc. are provided. Pets are welcome. Up to 2 dogs are accommodated free, additional dogs can be accommodated at extra cost.
A caretaker lives in a cottage about a quarter of a mile from the house. He will make sure you have all you need and will do his best to ensure you have a happy holiday. The only thing we will not allow is the use of firearms of any description. The nearest shops are in Tarbert, which is 3 miles across the loch. By land the nearest shops are in Tighnabruaich. Excellent meals can be had a Kilfinan (5 miles away by car) or in Tarbert and in Tighnabruaich.
